TRUCK HITS 224 MPH RECORD WITH DIESEL GUARD
ValvTect Petroleum, manufacturer of Diesel Guard premium diesel additives, announced it’s Third
year sponsorship of "Joint Venture" the worlds fastest modified diesel powered truck.
The modified Freightliner, powered by a 1472 cubic-inch, 4,000 horsepower, double supercharged
engine, hit 224 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats last year using a special diesel fuel treated
with Diesel Guard premium diesel additive.
The ultimate muscle machine is co-owned by Longview Diesel and Interstate Wood Products of Kelso,
Washington. "The diesel fuel we burn is a critical part of our performance," said co-owner Ray
Heitz. "The cetane improver and detergent, designed to keep injectors perfectly clean, contained
in Diesel Guard helps keep the engine operating at peak performance." The specially formulated
diesel fuel is supplied by Cooper Oil of Longview Washington, a Certified Diesel Guard
distributor.
"We are pleased to participate with Longview Diesel Service and Cooper Oil," said Jerry Nessenson,
President of ValvTect. "We are proud to know Diesel Guard contributed to the world record."
Over the next year "Joint Venture" will attempt to break it’s own record at Bonneville.
"We have been at it since 1978 when we hit the then record of 172 mph. We are hoping for
another record this year," said Heitz. "Among the special products we will use will be Diesel
Guard treated diesel fuel." For more information contact Longview Diesel Service 360-636-2500
